Course Spotlights
BA 500 MBA Fundamentals***
This course will provide students with foundational knowledge and skills in a range of business education topic areas. The course provides non-business majors, or students needing to refresh their knowledge, with the necessary business fundamentals to help them succeed in the MBA program.
***Students with undergraduate degrees in non-business fields will be required to take a 1-credit MBA Fundamentals course at the beginning of their program.
BA 701 Legal Environment of Healthcare Management
The course provides a foundation in the legal and regulatory framework in which health care institutions operate. Students will also examine the legal issues confronting health care managers including director and administrative liability, malpractice, negligence, patient rights and confidentiality, licensure requirements, and the like.
BA 702 Healthcare Economics
The course explores the application to health care management functions of such concepts and processes as supply and demand, resource allocation and utilization, costing and pricing, resource productivity, forecasting and economic aspects of planning, and utilization review.
BA 704 Managing Quality in Healthcare
This course examines methods and tools for managing quality in health facilities, physician practices, managed care, and public health.
