Gain the knowledge and skills necessary to provide high-quality care to acutely ill young adults, older adults and the elderly with Husson Online’s MSN, Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGAC-NP) track. Graduates of the program are eligible to sit for the ANCC certification exam as an AGAC-NP or the AACN as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner-Adult Gerontology.

Course Spotlights

NU 708 Socio-Cultural Perception of Addiction & Population Health

This course focuses on the impact of sociocultural factors on health, treatment, and communities. Global health systems will be studied to identify access, resources, and barriers within the framework of the sociocultural model.

NU 710 Advanced Evidence-Based Practice

This course provides a foundational overview of Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) for health care professionals. Students acquire an understanding of research design principles for the purpose of implementing EBP to address real world clinical issues.

NU 740 Public Health Policy Issues and Challenges

This course is designed to provide the graduate student with an opportunity to explore and evaluate the political process, fiscal policies, and their impact on public health and the health care system.

NU 825 Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Theories I

This on-line, didactic course is designed for the practicing nurse practitioner who seeks to gain additional knowledge and skills related to the care of adult gerontology and acutely ill patients, with a specific focus on chronic disease.
