Conservation and Law Enforcement

PROTECT WILDLIFE AND PRESERVE ECOSYSTEMS

Husson University offers a B.S. in Conservation Law Enforcement designed for individuals passionate about protecting wildlife who want to pursue outdoor careers, such as game warden, park ranger, or a similar role. Immersive online coursework emphasizes key topics in environmental law enforcement, policy, and natural resource management. This program delivers a flexible yet rigorous learning experience that spans key topics in wildland fire management, wildlife law enforcement, species identification, and wildlife trafficking.

DEGREE LISTINGS BY LEVEL OF STUDY

Husson University offers a focused range of programs for students pursuing careers in conservation and environmental management. At the undergraduate level, the B.S. in Wildlife Biology and Conservation and the B.S. in Marine Biology and Conservation provide strong foundations in ecology, habitat and natural resource management, and wildlife conservation. The Certificate in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) builds valuable technical skills in mapping and data analysis used across conservation fields. For graduate study, the M.S. in Wildlife Conservation and Management prepares students for leadership roles through in-depth training in conservation strategy and research.

Together, these programs combine academic rigor with practical application, equipping students to make a meaningful impact in conservation and natural resource management.

FACULTY SPOTLIGHT

Dr. Aly McKnight is a population biologist and Assistant Professor in Husson University’s College of Science and Humanities. With a PhD from the University of Maine, she spent over a decade with US Fish and Wildlife monitoring wildlife recovery after the 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill. Her research examines how environmental factors influence seabirds and drive population dynamics. Previously at Unity College, she brings a hands-on educational approach developed while training field crews in Alaska.
